Year: 1999
Type: article
Abstract: This paper describes how computer technology has affected the design and use of a range of dictionaries for language learners, from pocket bilingual dictionaries contained within a tiny electronic device, to multi-media interactive monolingual dictionaries on CD-ROM. It discusses the usefulness and success of the new search routes available to electronic dictionary users, and the educational potential of computer-based dictionaries in the language classroom
