Monodentate-Bridged Phosphodiester and Sulfate Complexes: Structural Insights into the Biological Activation of Phosphodiesters, Sulfate, and Sulfate Esters
Year: 2000
Type: article
Abstract: A dinickel(II) complex [Ni2(BPAN)(μ-(PhO)2PO2)2(MeCN)2](ClO4)2 (1) with monodentate bridging diphenyl phosphate groups and a dimanganese(II) compound [Mn2(BPMAN)(μ-SO4)2] (2) with a monodentate bridging sulfate group were synthesized and characterized. The unique bridging modes observed in the structures of these complexes may be relevant to the activation of phosphate and sulfate esters at dimetallic centers in biology.
