Abstract: The AAA Code of Ethics revision offers an opportunity to engage in a discipline-wide discussion on this vital issue affecting all people involved in anthropological work. The below commentaries examine what a code of ethics can and should do; guiding principles versus enforceable standards for anthropologists and their employers; and how anthropologists manage multiple, potentially competing, sets of ethics in interdisciplinary work. These commentaries have been selected to offer diverse perspectives on often controversial issues, and in that spirit we welcome feedback and additional views.
