Abstract: pox subsequently developed in a close contact of their children, whereas 30 percent of parents of 195 children whose PCR test was positive reported that chickenpox had developed in a close contact. Both of these findings support our contention that the children who did not have a positive PCR test were not infected with varicella-zoster virus.
