Abstract: Light pulses were observed from the optical counterpart of 4U 1626 – 67. The period, period derivative, and phases of the pulses were derived. The light curve of the optical pulses is not a simple sinusoid. The small intrinsic luminosity, the pulse timing observations, and the spectrophotometry are all consistent with 4U 1626 – 67 being in a short period day |(${P}_{orb}\,\lt\,0.3\,\text{day})$| binary system with a low mass |$({M}_\text{opt}\,\sim\,0.2{M}_{0})$| optical companion in an orbit with small inclination |$(i\,\lesssim\,{10}^{\circ})$.|
