Long-time tails and convective diffusion with random traps
Year: 1987
Type: article
Abstract: A field theory is developed for convective diffusion with random stationary traps. Instanton methods are used to determine the long-time asymptotics of the average fraction of surviving particles. It is shown that an arbitrarily small drift velocity restores exponential form to the normally subexponential survival function. Corrections to the usual long-time tail for diffusion with random traps are obtained in the absence of convection.
