Conditionnement classique chez l'homme et facteurs cognitifs : I. Le conditionnement végétatif
Year: 1979
Type: article
Abstract: Summary Classical conditioning has usually been considered as an automatic, unconscious process requiring the suspension of higher processes in the human. However a growing number of authors, taking the opposite point of view, emphasize that conditioning depends on cognitive activities. A survey of the experimental lilerature relating to this issue leads to the conclusion tkat awareness of the relationships between CS and UCS is an empirically necessary, but not sufjicient condition for the establishment of human autonomie conditioning. It is possible on the basis of these experimental results to refect certain narrow and extreme viewpoints, both behaviourist and cognitivist. However the results are still compatible with a wide variety of different explanations (154 ref.).
