L'Argentine : identité nationale et mondialisation // Argentine : national identity and globalization
Year: 2004
Type: article
Abstract: Since the creation of Argentina, debates upon the nature of its identity show a great uncertainty. Without trying to define this elusive identity, one can look for the causes of this uneasiness, revisiting concrete moments of construction and dissolution of the national identiy, defined by the existence of a national project, both explicit and common. Such project have been built and undone in relation to the successive moments of globalization, that have assigned to Argentina its place in the national division of labour and have given interpretative clues of the situation. Theses phases have left traces on the territory, valorizing specific spaces and places. The territory bears, with the actualization of the past, the inscription of theses contradictions that sustain the question of identity.
