Abstract: We present a robust pairing mechanism that arises from repulsive electron-electron interactions. Our results demonstrate that the interplay between antiferromagnetism and delocalization leads to topological confinement of hole pairs in a simple two-band Hubbard Hamiltonian. By using density-matrix renormalization group (DMRG) we also demonstrate the presence of dominant superconducting correlations in one-dimensional systems over a wide range of realistic parameters.
