Assessment of Brain Natriuretic Peptide in Patients Undergoing Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation
Year: 2013
Type: article
Abstract: Toxicity associated with the hematopoietic stem cell transplant (HSCT) process commonly results in a need for critical care resources. Identifying biomarkers associated with critical illness in HSCT patients may improve outcomes. Brain natriuretic peptide (BNP) has become a useful marker of cardiopulmonary disease in many settings. The value of BNP levels early in the HSCT process in children is largely unknown.
