Immune Activation and the Role of TLRs and TLR Agonists in the Pathogenesis of HIV-1 Infection in the Humanized Mouse Model
Year: 2013
Type: review
Abstract: Immune activation plays a critical role in HIV-1 pathogenesis, but the pathways that are responsible for HIV-1-associated immune activation are not well understood. Recent advances in the development of a humanized mouse model for HIV-1 infection might provide new approaches to study the mechanisms of HIV-1 associated immune activation, and to test interventions aimed at reducing HIV-1 pathogenesis.
