Abstract: A four tasks-based program was designed, founded in\nthe Cognitive Behavioral Model of Stress Inoculation\nand intervention on anticipatory grief. The program\nwas applied to three bad prognosis patients and their\nfamilies from the Oncology Service at Hospital de la\nMisericordia, in Bogota. Risk and protection factors\nand responses related to the program were described\nby means of a case study. The qualitative analysis of\ncases showed a description of responses to previous\nnon elaborated bereavement, patterns of deficient\ncommunication in one case, and recognition of\nfamiliar support. According to the participants� report,\nthe intervention allowed them to express their feelings,\nto reflect about the meaning of life, the increase of\ncommunication opportunities and skills, and the\norientation to problem solving and decision making.
