Abstract: This paper attempts to delineate \nthe interaction between trust, emotion, and ethical decision making. \nThe authors first \npropose that trust can either in \ncite an individual toward ethical decisions \nor drag him or her away from ethical \ndecisions, depending on different situations. The authors then postulate that the feeling \nof guilt is central in \nunderstanding how trust affects the ethical decision making process. Several propositions based on these assumptions \nare introduced and implications for practice discussed.
