Drones and Imagination: A Response to Paul Kahn

Abstract: In responding to Paul Kahn’s article, ‘Imagining Warfare’, in this issue, this article points out that features of contemporary drone warfare antedate the contemporary moment, especially in colonial warfare. For this reason, it is more a matter of the novel combination of these features than a fundamental shift in the nature of warfare that drones bring about.
