Abstract: Gambling participation and expenditure \n• Approximately 75% of surveyed ACT residents gambled last year with nearly \n36% of gamblers participating on at least a weekly basis. \n• The highest levels of gambling expenditure were recorded for gaming machines \nand lotteries. \n• According to latest Tasmanian Gaming Commission statistics, total gambling \nexpenditure by ACT residents in 1999-2000 was $209m.
