Abstract: Clinical question 1: Is laparoscopic distal pancreatectomy (LDP) recommended for benign or low-grade lesions?LDP can be considered for benign or low-grade lesions. Strength of recommendation: C11-1 Are the effects and risks of LDP equivalent to those of laparotomy? The effects and risks of LDP are equivalent to those of laparotomy. 1-3 Are the surgical technique and complication rate of LDP similar to those of ODP?LDP does not require more surgical time than ODP, but it is associated with reduced intraoperative blood loss and a comparable or slightly reduced complication rate with no laparoscopic surgery-specific complications.■ Explanation No randomized controlled trial (RCT) has compared the complication rate and surgical technique of LDP and bs_bs_banner
