Abstract: The increased incidence of fungal infections\nduring the last decade has been well-documented.\nGiven that one of the most important factors contributing\nto this phenomenon is the increased numbers of immunocompromised\nindividuals, it is perhaps not surprising that\nspecies previously not associated with human disease and\nnovel species previously unknown to science have been\nidentified as potential pathogens (e.g., Penicillium marneffei\n, Emmonsia pasteuriana and Candida dubliniensis).
