Inhibition of Candida parapsilosis Mitochondrial Respiratory Pathways Enhances Susceptibility to Caspofungin
Year: 2006
Type: article
Abstract: Among the Candida species, Candida parapsilosis has a unique mitochondrial respiratory network. The addition of inhibitors of the respiratory pathways in three clinical isolates of C. parapsilosis with high (> or =2- microg/ml) MICs of caspofungin significantly (fivefold) decreased caspofungin MICs but did not change fluconazole MICs.
