Abstract: Increasing concern on university campuses over declining enrollment and graduation rates of Black and Hispanic students has prompted renewed efforts to address the academic problems of minority students.Academic libraries have a fundamental role to play in contributing to the successful adjustment of disadvantaged students. This paper describes and evaluates a library-based peer counseling program staffed by minority undergraduates and designed to bridge the gap between minority students on campus and library resources.
