Cyclophosphamide Priming with Intravenous Plerixafor and GCSF Mobilization for Multiple Myeloma
Year: 2012
Type: article
Abstract: Plerixafor (Pl), an inhibitor of CXCR4 has been approved for use with G-CSF for stem cell mobilization for autologous transplant in patients with multiple myeloma and non-Hodgkin lymphoma. However, the subcutaneous route of injection necessitates dosing 11 hours prior to apheresis. Intravenous (IV) dosing may result in a faster peak CD34+ cell count allowing more convenient dosing. Other strategies to increase stem cell yield include chemotherapy mobilization with cyclophosphamide (CY). Herein we report on the use of CY followed by intravenous Pl plus G-CSF.
