Year: 2004
Type: article
Abstract: Technologies that support collaboration and cooperative management of shared information spaces are assumed to be of great practical and strategic importance within different domains. From an organisational point of view, it is important to have access to the collective knowledge aggregated within an organisation. This supports sharing, distributing and reusing the knowledge by other people within an organisation. Today it is essential for professional workers to both stay informed and inform their work environments in order to effectively manage information and knowledge in different forms. Furthermore, it is important to build up, share and reuse collective knowledge within an organisation about policies, procedures, and strategies in order to be competitive, effective and innovative.
