Abstract: ultidimensionality makes human beings hypercomplex, dynamic and polyvalent.The current health professionals' perspective on the patient facilitates loss of his/her life experiences.Quality nursing care requires global knowledge of the patient.Knowing about the patient's experiences, memories and opinions becomes essential when he/she is admitted in an intensive care unit.The aim of this work is to demonstrate the pertinence of assumptions regarding the paradigm of complexity in holistic assess-ment processes and analysis of life experiences of a patient whilst in intensive care.
