Abstract: The bends: Surface modification of multi-compartmental microcylinders by spatio-selective click chemistry and subsequent surface-initiated atom-transfer radical polymerization (ATRP) yield novel amphiphilic microcylinders (see scheme). Depending on the aspect ratio of the microcylinders, they can be bent or coiled.
