Abstract: South Africa now finds itself in a state of dramatic change. Education based on segregation is to be replaced, this time by an implementation of the policy of the Rainbow Nation. To merge traditions from Africa, Europe, North America and Asia into a multicultural music education in a short space of time is indeed a vast and complicated mission.
