Coreference and Anaphoric Relations of Demonstrative Noun Phrases in Multilingual Corpus

Abstract: We present a corpus study regarding the use of demonstrative noun phrases in Portuguese and French. The motivation for this study is to verify specific features related to the coreferential and anaphoric role of such expressions in written texts. These features serve as background knowledge for the development of a multilingual tool for coreference and anaphoric resolution. 1
