Abstract: Theactivityofbc1�complexkinase�(ABC1K)�protein� family,�whichwidelyexistsinprokaryotesandeuka ryotes,� consistsof�15�membersinrice,�andtheroleofthi sfamilyinplantshasnotyetbeenstudiedindeta ils.�Inthisstudy,�anovel� functionofOsABC1K8 �(LOC_Os06g48770),�amemberofriceABC1Kfamily,�w ascharacterized.�Thetranscriptlevelof� OsABC1K8 �changesinresponsetosalt,�dehydration,�cold,�PE G,�oxidative�(H2O2)�stresses,�orabscisicacid�(ABA)�treatment.� OverexpressionofOsABC1K8 �significantlyincreasedsensitivitytodehydration �andreducedsensitivitytoABA.�Inthe� contrast,�RNAitransgeniclinesdisplayedsignifica ntlyreducedsensitivitytodehydrationstressand� increasedsensitivityto� ABA.� Furthermore,� thetranscriptionallevelsofsev eralABA/stress7regulatedresponsivegenesweresup pressedin� OsABC1K8 over7expressingplantsunderdehydrationstress.�In �conclusion,�ourresultssuggestedthatOsABC1K8 isa� negativeregulatorinresponsetodehydrationstres sthroughanABA7dependentpathway.�� �
