Abstract: Acute lower respiratory tract infections are a major cause of illness in infants and children, frequently leading to outpatient visits to the physician or hospitalization. In industrialized, developed countries the majority of these illnesses are mild, but, unfortunately, fatalities occasionally occur. In addition, there is a possible relationship between lower respiratory tract disease and the occurrence of long-term sequelae. These keywords were added by machine and not by the authors. This process is experimental and the keywords may be updated as the learning algorithm improves.
