Abstract: Results……………………………………………………………………… 113Chapter 5 also provides an overall summary to the results of this dissertation.Key findings, interpretation of the findings, limitations, and implications for clinical practice and future research are presented.By determining the pre-pregnancy health status of women by specific subgroup with increased risk for poor birth outcomes, clinicians have the opportunity to tailor their care and attempt to reduce rates of preterm delivery.The findings in this dissertation provide a stepping-stone for future research on pre-pregnancy risk factors for preterm delivery, and represent a new way to understand and prevent preterm delivery.References
