Abstract: We carried out a review of what, if anything, existing research says about women's experiences. The purpose of this was to provide an initial framework of issues to explore in the narrative element of the project, this would allow us to both build on and, where necessary, challenge what evidence currently exists. We report this review work in this paper, first explaining how we found and selected our material and then presenting our thematic analysis of it.
