Abstract: We argue briefly for the role of computational trust in ubiquitous computing, and in particular for the need of a formal foundation for computational trust. We provide two examples towards such a foundation: a formal foundation for a some probabilistic approaches from the literature, and a formal framework for comparing probabilistic trust models.
