Abstract: Gregor Krek spada med tista velika imena slovanske filologije, ki so se s svojim delom za trajno zapisala v njeno zgodovino. Zavedal se je vseh omejitev, ki so izhajale iz tedanjega razvoja znanstvene misli in hkrati poskušal razumeti nove tokove v jezikoslovju. *** Gregor Krek is one of the great figures of Slavic philology whose works and names are indelibly inscribed in the discipline’s history. Aware of all the limitations of scholarly thought as developed at the time, he simultaneously sought to understand new trends in linguistics.
