Abstract: As illustrated by the articles in this special issue, the research into ethnic identity in adoption is making significant progress. At the same time, it faces new challenges in the definition of concepts, the use of appropriate methods of study, and the consideration of implications for professional interventions. This commentary offers additional thoughts about these three areas in an effort to complete the new perspectives opened by the foregoing articles.
