Validación De La Teoría Cognitivo Social De Desarrollo De La Carrera Con Una Muestra De Estudiantes De Ingeniería

Abstract: Se presentan los resultados de una investigación realizada para validar la Teoría Cognitivo Social de Desarrollo de la Carrera (SCCT). Formulada por Lent y colaboradores, esta teoría explica las decisiones vocacionales de los estudiantes atendiendo a la relación que se produce entre distintas variables: las creencias de autoeficacia, las expectativas de resultado, el interés y lasmetas. Se ha querido validar el modelo en el contexto universitario español, usando una muestra de estudiantes de ingeniería. Se ha realizado el análisis de las propiedades psicométricas del instrumento, se ha evaluado la estructurafactorial de la prueba, a través del programa Factor; se ha analizado la consistencia interna de los factores y; posteriormente, se ha verificado el modelo SCCT en nuestra población mediante el procedimiento de EcuacionesEstructurales. Los resultados validan la mayor parte de las hipótesis derivadas de modelo SCCT, destacando el papel preponderante de las creencias de autoeficacia para explicar la carrera vocacional.ABSTRACTWe present the results of research conducted in order to validate Social Cognitive Career Theory (SCCT). Formulated by Lent and colleagues, this theory helps explain the vocational choices of students in relation to the link produced between different variables: self-efficacy beliefs, outcome expectations, interests and goals. Our objective was to validate the model and the relationship between these variables in the Spanish university context, using a sample of engineering students. We tested the psychometric properties of the instrument, we assessed the factor structure of the test, through the Factor program, we analyzed the internal consistency of the factors using Cronbach’s alpha and, subsequently, the SCCT model was verified thtough the method of structural equation. The results confirm most of the hypotheses derived from the SCCT model, highlighting the role of self-efficacy beliefs to explain the vocational career.
