Stochastic Analysis of Advection-Diffusion-Reaction Systems with Applications to Reactive Transport in Porous Media (Final Technical Report)
Year: 2014
Type: report
Abstract: The main objective of this project is to develop new computational tools for uncertainty quantifica- tion (UQ) of systems governed by stochastic partial differential equations (SPDEs) with applications to advection-diffusion-reaction systems. We pursue two complementary approaches: (1) generalized polynomial chaos and its extensions and (2) a new theory on deriving PDF equations for systems subject to color noise. The focus of the current work is on high-dimensional systems involving tens or hundreds of uncertain parameters.
