Abstract: Perinatal death is recognized as a traumatic life event. Most of the time, people receive limited support from family, friends and even their partners. The lack of support from their partners usually occurs due to the different ways that men and women react and mourn. The present study will discern these differences and the reason behind them. For data collection, a sample of 4 couples between the ages of 25 and 40, both married and not, that have gone through perinatal loss will be used. Interviews will be carried out individually with the purpose of knowing [in depth] the experiences and reactions of these couples after a miscarriage. As a result, women are expected to show more depressive symptoms, more psychological stress and generally more intense, painful and longer grief than their male partners.
