Abstract: El siguiente trabajo tiene como propósito presentar una revisión del constructo de percepción de enfermedad a partir del modelo de Leventhal en salud. Se consideran los antecedentes históricos, los distintos modelos en salud, el desarrollo del “Illness Perception Questionnaire” y sus diferentes versiones. Por último, se presenta un análisis de los resultados encontrados en diferentes investigaciones tanto con pacientes con diagnóstico de enfermedad crónica como en pacientes de salud mental.Palabra claves: Percepción de enfermedad; “Cuestionario de Percepción de Enfermedad”; enfermedad crónica; salud mental.The following review presents an analysis of the construct of perception of illness base don Leventhal’s health model. Historical framework and, different health models, original and different versions of the “Illness Perception Questionnaire” and its different are reviewed.
