High peak power pulse generation of the Chemical OxygenIodine Laser with an External Magnetic Field.

Abstract: One of the most important factors for industrial laser is an ability to produce a pulsed-output beam. In order to achieve high peak pulse generation on Chemical Oxygen Iodine Laser (COIL), magnetic gain switching based on the Zeeman effect has been studied. As a result, pulse oscillation was successfully obtained and the peak power was three times higher than the average power.
