Mp03-05 Radiographic Size of Retroperitoneal Lymph Nodes Predicts Pathologic Nodal Involvement for Patients Undergoing Radical Nephrectomy for Renal Cell Carcinoma: Development of a Risk Prediction Model

Year: 2016
Type: article
Abstract: metastasis was 70%, which was significantly higher than that in patients with additional distant metastasis (41%, p¼0.003) (Figure 1a).Regarding the interval after the diagnosis of primary RCC, the two-year CSS rate in patients who experienced bladder metastasis after more than a one-year follow-up was 62%, compared to 37% in their counterparts (p¼0.037)(Figure 1b).CONCLUSIONS: The dissemination of neoplastic cells through the urinary tract is one of the valid explanations for the anterograde spread of renal tumors to the bladder.A curative resection provides a good possibility of long-term survival, particularly in those with solitary bladder metastasis and/or a long interval after nephrectomy.
