Abstract: In this issue of the World Journal for Pediatric and Congenital Heart Surgery, Calderon-Colmenero and colleagues describe the efforts of the Mexican Association of Specialists in Congenital Heart Disease to improve the quality of care for children with congenital heart disease in Mexico.1 Their approach consisted of creating a national survey to assess existing resources, using this information to improve access to care while continuing to support highly specialized care for the most complex cases at regional centers, and creating a database to allow capture of uniform procedural and outcomes data.
