Abstract: The first publication of one of the authors (GST) was an article on heart disease prevention written as a medical student 30 years ago.1 Upon finishing his cardiology fellowship in the mid-1980s, he was asked, “What will you do if this prevention stuff works?” He reassured himself, answering, “That would be a good thing; I’ll deal with it when the time comes.”
