Cloning and sequence analysis of Cu/Zn superoxide dismutase gene 2(MrSOD2) cDNA from Myrica rubra
Year: 2011
Type: article
Abstract: A PCR-based homologous cloning strategy was used to identify superoxide dismutase(SOD) genes from the leaves of Myrica rubra. Results of sequence analysis indicated that a 233 bp cDNA with a conserved regions encoding a 77 amino acids actin ortholog was successfully cloned and characterized. The SOD contained the signature sequence of Cu/Zn-SOD gene family.Multiple alignment analysis of amino acid sequences of the putative SOD conserved regions in Myrica rubra was more than 86% homologous with the best scoring results from similarity searches of sequence databanks. This gene was named as MrSOD2(Genbank accession No.AB 661320).
