Identification of a novel 39kDa polypeptide as a serum biomarker for arthralgia in Chikungunya
Year: 2015
Type: other
Abstract: Our aim is to Identify and characterize unique arthralgia severity biomarkers in Circulating Immune Complexes (CICs) of Chikungunya patients.A novel arthralgia severity marker (39kDa protein) in the serum Circulating Immune Complex of patients with Chikungunya infection with persistent polyarthralgia was identified, which had good clinical correlation from baseline, all the way up to 9 months follow up. Interestingly, the expression of this newly identified marker 39 kDa protein was very high at onset, which gradually decreases with resolution of symptoms.
