Abstract: I read the article "Electrocardiographic and Segmental Wall Motion Abnormalities" with great interest. The findings ofthe case report described are consistent with pericardial involvement with associated myocardial disorder for several reasons. The initial ECG showed ST-segment elevation in leads V3-Vh.A careful examination of the published ECG shows a slight ST elevation in leads 11,111, a VL, and a VF as well. The second ECG shows the findings of the subacute phase of acute pericarditis and involvement with acute pericarditis, including cardiac tamponade and large pericardial effusion, both showing tluid with an increased level of amylase. Our prospective and cross-sectional study of 15 patients with mild acute pancreatitis with clinical, ECG, and echocardiographic correlations provided evidence of pericardial effusion in 7 of these patients. This was statistically significant compared
