T-Cell-Replete Haploidentical Transplantation Using Post-Transplant Cyclophosphamide in Active Disease AML and MDS Leads to Outcomes Similar to Matched Related and Unrelated Donor Transplantation

Year: 2016

Study design: Observational Study
Abstract: Recent studies have shown that outcomes after haploidentical transplantation (haplo-HCT) are similar to those of HLA-matched related donor (MRD) and unrelated donor (MUD) transplantation, particularly for patients in complete remission at the time of transplantation. However, there is currently a paucity of data on the outcomes with haplo-HCT in patients with active disease at the time of transplant. We therefore retrospectively analyzed the outcomes of patients with acute myeloid leukemia (AML) or myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) from a single institution who underwent haplo-HCT, MRD or MUD transplant with active disease at the time of transplant.
