Effcts of technique supervision during repeated sprint training in high level junior soccer players
Year: 2014
Type: dissertation
Abstract: Although sprinting skills are considered important in soccer,\nseveral aspects regarding sprint conditioning of players remain unclear in research\nliterature. No studies have so far investigated the effect of direct supervision during\nrepeated sprint training (RST) in soccer players. Moreover, the vast majority of studies\nrecommend that sprinting velocity should be kept on a maximal level during training.\nThe aim of the present study is two-fold: 1) to compare the effects of directly supervised\nRST versus unsupervised RST on maximal sprint performance and repeated sprint\nability (RSA) in high level young soccer players, and 2) to investigate the effects of\ntraining at 90% sprint velocity performed off-season on maximal sprint performance\nand RSA.
