Abstract: Nietzsche's contribution must be re-evaluated in the perspective of a causal-genealogical science of moral standards which refers back to the « prius » which is life. The point at which vitality and normativity need each other must be re-invested in order to avoid the dualisms opposing the « be » and the « ought-to-be B.
