Estimates of Rock Volume Suitable for Heat Transfer Calculations

Year: 1991
Type: report
Abstract: The purpose of this memo is to document our current best estimates of reservoir rock volume on the basis of microseismic, tracer, and hydraulic data. It is understood that this estimate is to be used in a heat transfer calculation, and thus must represent the effective volume from which heat will be extracted. The size estimates will attempt to account for the fact that not all rock stimulated during a hydraulic fracturing experiment is necessarily part of the swept volume when a steady state flow field is established between the wells.
