Rapid Expansion of Tumor-Specific T Cells Using Nanoparticle-Based Artificial Antigen Presenting Cells (aAPCs)

Year: 2016
Type: article
Abstract: Adoptive cell transfer (ACT) of tumor-specific T cells for the treatment of cancer has been used to mediate durable responses in multiple malignancies. However, despite its significant therapeutic potential, the routine use of ACT has been limited. This has been due, in large part, to the high cost, intricate and labor-intensive methods required to successfully generate autologous antigen-specific T cells. Here, we report on the application of a recently described novel nanoparticle-based method for expansion of tumor-specific T cells from normal human donors.
