Abstract: The review gives modern knowledge of the genetics, pharmacogenetics and nutrigenetics of type 2 diabetes mellitus. The knowledge of genetic determinants can refine our understanding of the pathogenesis of this disease and introduce pharmacogenetic and nutrigenetic approaches to its effective therapy and prevention.
