Impact of Busulfan Exposure on Transplant Outcomes for Patients with Advanced Myelodysplastic Syndrome Undergoing CD34 Selected Allogeneic Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation

Year: 2016
Type: article
Abstract: CD34 selected allografts offer similar survival rates as unmodified allografts with lower incidence of acute and chronic graft-versus-host disease (GVHD) in patients with myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS). A common conditioning regimen with CD34 selected hematopoietic stem cell transplants (CD34 HSCT) is a combination of busulfan, melphalan, fludarabine and anti- thymocyte globulin (ATG). The ideal area under the curve (AUC) and overall dose intensity of busulfan are unknown in these patients.
